How to create an API key

Our API is designed to seamlessly integrate and update your threat data within Defense.com.

To create an API Key, simply follow the steps below.

  1. Sign in to your Defense.com account as a Company Admin

  2. Select Account from the navigation on the left-hand side

  3. Next, click API Keys

  4. In the top-right-hand corner click + Create API Key

  5. You'll then be presented with the API Key form where you'll need to set a Label, Expires at date and select one of the following Scopes:

    Read - Pull in your Defense.com threats

    Write - Pull in and update your Defense.com Threats

  6. Once complete, click Create API key to finish the setup.

  7. Your new API key will be created and displayed. Make sure you copy and save your new key as you won't be able to access it again.
