How to log out users using Orbital

This guide explains how to log a user out of a device remotely using the Orbital agent via the Defense.com portal.

If a device is lost, stolen, or left unattended on a shared or public network, remotely logging out the active user helps prevent unauthorised access to company data. It's also useful for enforcing session policies or quickly resolving access issues without needing physical access to the endpoint.

  1. Log in to your my.defense.com account.

  2. Select Endpoints from the navigation on the left-hand side and then select Orbital Agent from the dropdown.

  3. Locate the endpoint from which you want to log out a user, either by finding the endpoint from the list or searching its hostname using the search bar.

  4. Click on the Logout user to the right of the entry for the endpoint. You can also click on the Endpoint's hostname and select the Logout button in the top right of the Endpoint's page.

And that's it! You've successfully logged out a user using the Orbital agent
