Recon allows you to assess your business from a hacker's perspective by performing passive checks against your business domains and their related assets. The results are combined into an easy-to-understand report, and any issues are converted into threats, allowing you to manage your remediation efforts and start reducing your risk, fast.

Adding a recon target

  1. From the Defense.com dashboard, select Scanning from the navigation

  2. Next, select Recon

  3. Enter your business's root domain (e.g. defense.com) into the text field towards the top of the page and click Start Recon

  4. Defense.com will then attempt to validate your domain name and begin to pull together your Recon report

  5. Within 2-3 minutes, your Recon report will be complete

Updating your recon report

  1. From the Defense.com dashboard, select Scanning from the navigation

  2. Next, select Recon

  3. From the Recon index page, click the domain name associated with the report you'd like to refresh under the Domain column

  4. Finally, click Refresh in the top right-hand corner of the recon report screen

And that's it! You've successfully run recon against your business domain names πŸŽ‰
