Training your staff is an essential part of any good security strategy. It enables employees to acquire the skills and knowledge they need to help keep themselves, the business and the businesses' data secure.

However, getting users with busy day jobs to engage with another thing on the to-do list, like security training, can be challenging - we get it! That's why users with Company Admin access configure Defense.com to automatically enrol and remind your staff to complete regular security training. Here's how to do it.

  1. Log in to https://my.defense.com and click on your user profile in the top right corner. From the drop-down, click Account. You will be directed to the account page.

  2. On the account page, select the Training tab.

  3. From the training tab, you'll be able to configure the following options.

    1. Initial start date

    2. Time limit

    3. Retake frequency

    4. Reminders

Let's take a closer look at each option:

Initial Start Date: This is the date from which the company training will start. Choose a date that is convenient for your organisation.

Time Limit: This is where you'll define how long your staff has to complete the training videos and exams on Defense.com.

Retake Frequency: Choose the frequency with which users are required to retake exams. We recommend all staff undergo security training at least once per year.

Reminders: Select the option to send users email reminders about training. Weekly notifications will be sent starting three weeks from the training time limit deadline.

4. Once you have completed each section, simply click Update settings.

Congratulations! πŸŽ‰ You've configured your businesses' training settings so that you staff are automatically enrolled in training and reminded to complete it within a specific timeframe.
