Uninstalling Endpoint Protection From Mac OS

In this guide, we will walk you through the step-by-step process of uninstalling Defense.com Endpoint Security from your Mac device.

Open Finder and Locate the Application

To begin the uninstallation process, open a Finder window by clicking on the Finder icon in your dock. Once the Finder window is open, navigate to the Applications folder.

Access the Defense.com Endpoint Security Directory

In the Applications folder, locate the Defense.com Endpoint Security icon. Right-click on the icon and select Show Original from the context menu. This action will open the /Library/EndpointProtection/AVP/product/bin directory.

Locate and Open the Uninstaller Folder

Scroll down within the AVP directory until you find a folder named Uninstaller Double-click on the folder to open it.

Run the Uninstaller

Inside the Uninstaller folder, you will find one file. Double-click on this file to run the uninstaller.

Enter Your Device Password

Upon running the Uninstaller, you will be prompted to enter your device password. This is the password associated with your user account on your Mac device. Enter the password and click OK to proceed.

Confirm the Uninstallation

After entering your device password, a confirmation dialogue box will appear, asking you to confirm that you wish to uninstall the software. Click on the Uninstall button to proceed.

Enter the Uninstall Password

Next, you will be prompted to enter the uninstall password.

This password would have been configured by the person who set up the package within the defense.com portal.

Complete the Uninstallation

Once you have entered the correct uninstall password, the uninstallation process will begin. You will see a progress bar indicating the removal of Defense.com Endpoint Security from your device. Once the process is complete, you will receive a confirmation message on your screen.
