When preparing for an upcoming penetration test, you may find that your penetration test report enters a state of Targets rejected. This means that the penetration testing team has reviewed the target information you've submitted and determined that one of the following may apply.

  • The information is incomplete

  • The targets supplied don't correlate to the agreed scope of the test

  • There are technical issues related to the targets supplied and the targets in scope

This guide will walk you through how to access, review and re-submit your target information when it has been rejected.

  1. Log into your account

  2. Select Prevention in the navigation on the left-hand side

  3. Click Penetration Testing

  4. If you have multiple reports, Filter by state for Targets rejected

  5. Locate the report you wish to update and click the Update Targets action button on the right-hand side

  6. Once you're on the report details page, scroll to the Notes section, here you'll be able to review the comments left by the penetration testing team

  7. Once reviewed, please update the target information as required. Should you wish to communicate further with the penetration testing team about the issue, you can reply directly to them using the Notes section on the report

  8. Finally, when you're happy the target information is complete, scroll to the bottom of the report and click Resubmit Scope

  9. The information supplied will be re-reviewed by the penetration testing team

And that's it! πŸŽ‰ You've successfully reviewed and updated your penetration test target information.
